Merchandiser / Purchasing Coordinator (March 2021)

Jettribe Texas is looking for a Merchandiser / Purchasing Coordinator for their Sulphur Springs office. Only in-house hires will be considered at this time (no remote work). Hours are part time 25-30 hours per week to start, with more hours available as programs develop in the near future. Merchandiser / Purchasing Coordinator

Jettribe is seeking the best and brightest to join our international team! 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning and executing all activities involved in the procurement of finished goods from qualified manufacturers and suppliers.

  • Negotiating best costs with vendors and delivering pricing to the sales team based on margin requirements.

  • Preparing quote sheets and pricing templates for the sales team.

  • Communicate details between customers and Jettribe in-house overseas factories.  

  • Understand the limitations of the manufacturing process and material availability. 

  • Recognized the scalability and sustainability of raw materials. 

  • Understand the cost effectiveness of material selection that lower rates on import duties. 

  • Efficient with Harmonized import codes. 

  • Identify the price fluctuation of currency exchange rate and factors that affect the price of the product (oil prices, container shipping, etc).

  • Identifying customer specific testing (SGS,UL,CE,Lab etc.) packaging, and SKU Barcodes requirements and creating pre-production outline for purchase orders.

  • Updating computer system with order requirements and product specifications.

  • Preparing and completing order spreadsheets, templates, project documentation, and shipping forms (B/L, LCL, container shipping, drop ship, Blind ship, third party procurement).

  • Understand import/ export procedures, VAT export / Import Taxes.

  • Product packaging such as bags, care and material content tags, as well as barcode labeling.  

  • Manage prototypes with designers to and from factories and clients.

  • Managing all communications with vendors and sub vendors (raw materials) overseas.

  • Consolidate incoming/outgoing shipments of samples as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree preferred or equivalence of 4+ years of experience in the soft goods industry. 

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel specifically) and computer skills. 

  • Proficient in Corel Draw, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.

  • Ability to work with “Monday.com” workspace and Quickbooks Online.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to efficiently multitask and handle multiple deadlines simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative without immediate supervision.

  • Highly developed communication and grammar skills, both written and verbal.

  • Excellent interpersonal, time management skills and strong team player.

  • Detail-oriented and self-driven individual.

  • Able to work autonomously on projects for weeks. 

  • Deep understanding of overseas cultures in Asia, Middle East, and Europe.

  • International business traveled / bilingual is a plus. i.e. international awareness, along with multi-cultural etiquette 

  • Relevant prior experience with an importer/ oversea trading company is a plus.
