Race Recap: Opening Rounds 2023 Jettribe Mid-America Series

Posted by Jettribe Staff on 23rd Mar 2023

The opening rounds of the Jettribe Mid-American WaterX Championship took place this past week in Orange, TX. The race series by Nauti Water Racing continues to be one of the happiest races on earth! Despite the brutal, freezing, and frigid weather, every single spectator, staff member, family member, and racer was extremely high-spirited, grateful, and happy to be there. It was almost like a Disneyland vibe on the shores of the Sabine River.

Huge shout-out and respect to the Nauti Water staff and crew for running a spotless race despite the cold conditions. Many thanks to the City of Orange organizers for bringing the huge heated tents and the catered dinners. All the food vendors at the site and the kid jumpers were an added plus for the race families. The city also gave a generous donation to the largest registered race class (Sport Spec). The winners graciously donated their winnings to the Junior Stars program.

There was a great junior racer turnout, with juniors coming from as far as Florida. It is always a treat to watch the juniors battle it out on the course, knowing they are the future of our sport. These boys and girls will keep us entertained for the next 5-10 years as they progress to a pro racing level.

Big thanks to the course marshall team for keeping the race site safe and the schedule flowing. Also thanks to the local sheriff's department, fire department, and water patrols for keeping the river clear of debris and other boaters during the race.

We are grateful for seeing such a huge turnout, and once again look forward to watching the series grow with high-level competition and a friendly family atmosphere. See you all at the next race at the Prizer Point Resort in Canton, KY May 6 & 7, 2023.
